Many lessons in martial arts come from seminars, a chance meeting with a visiting teacher, or a training trip a student almost couldn't make happen.
Martial arts scholarships make those moments possible for many students.
How We Approach Scholarship Giving
We provide scholarships to students that are guided by a few consistent principles:
- Sincerity and consistency of practice
- Responsible stewardship of every dollar granted
- A long-term view of a student's relationship to the art
Rooted in Direct Experience
Our Foundation arose out of the Japanese Martial Arts Center in Ann Arbor and is guided by practitioners who understand the importance of experiences outside the dojo.
That grounding shapes every martial arts scholarship we award. Not just a one-time gift, but rather an investment in a student's long-term training.

Support Options
Support a martial arts scholarship and help make sure a student's next step in training isn't decided by their budget.
